There I was, slaying the dragon, (SUCCESS 2nd try!!). So I expected to then make a treasure run and do some housekeeping and proceed in good order on to talk to that little gnome at the Inn and go on to TotL. But POOF the Dragon was dead and it was all over. So do you have to do it before going to Dragon Isle? If you do, can you do it and then continue on to Dragon Isle or does it also just end?
But I'm not sure about why bother when the game is already won? Maybe I'd get a level up out of it to help take down the wyrm; but I can already do that...

Yes you have to do TotL before going to Sea of Moving Ice (Dragon Isle) - after completing TotL you can teleport back to Lonelywood and proceed from there .

Definitely do TotL first - IMO it's tougher than HoW.

if you can do it, i would do the TOTL forst before continuing with the whole HOW. Use lonelywood to stock up on bought goodies and experience. Then go and tackle the TOTL, what this will do is take the edge off HOW. What i found was that when you were high enough in levels for HOW, some monsters packs just desimated my group (took 5 tries at the burial isle to complete!). TOTL starts off a little heavy........hmmmmm......what does he mean?????? but gets good after awhile.
