I have been reading about someof the things on the icewind dale II webpage and i found something that i think is awesome. I found out that you make any kind of character combinations for example, i could make a deep gnome wizard/barbarian/ranger and things like that. I think that that is awesome, so if there are no limits to what you can make your character all you would need would be about two maybe three characters and combine into them what kind of things you want them to know. i

Yep they are using 3rd rules, so you could even have a non human paladin if you wished. How about a Half Orc Paladin, Monk, Fighter, Ranger, Thief, mage. lol

You do have some limitations though. You'll get an experience penalty if you have more then 1 class, unless your first class is a favoured class of your race, then you'll only get the penalties when you have more then 2 classes and only then if the classes are more then 1 level apart.
The only real limitations are in the alignement. You can't make a barbarian/paladin or monk/paladin for instance because barbarians and monks can't be of lawful alignement and a paladin needs to be lawful good.
Other then thoose you have no restrictions.

uhhh I think you meant barbarian/monk, paladins and monks are both lawful;)

There are screen shots on the Icewind Dale II site that shows this. It shows the The Half-orc female as a barbarian/Bard/Sorcerer....
