Ok, I beat bg1 once before with no cheats. I am going back and trying to beat it with cheats now, and I cannot get past chapter 2. I have done every single quest, gone through the nashkel mines and everything, but it is not letting me go on to three. any suggestions on key quests or something i might have missed?

So you have both killed Muluhey and cleaned out the entire Bandit camp?? And if you did, I think you have to read all of the letters/documents that you find. That should activate the Cloakwood area map, but I'm not totally sure???

I just don't get it..I've done everything right.

This might sound stupid but...have you gone to sleep yet? I think the dreams that you have will activate a new quest or something like that. Wait did you talk to the Mayor of Naskel and collect your reward after clearing out the mines? No. No. That wouldn't do it. I don't know man, if you have tried everything then the next question you should ask yourself is what did do while you were cheating? And what did you use? CLUA or GateKeeper?

This happened to me once. After you kill whats-his-name in the lowest level of Nashkel Mines, you have to get all of the documents out of the chest near the "throne"(?).

I have slept (many times [img]smile.gif[/img] ) and I also got everything out of the chest. right now I am going back through all of the previous maps to see if I might have accidently missed something. As far as cheats go, I've pretty much made my characters "super"
I put all their stats at 20 or more and they all have the best armor and weapons. pretty much any cheat I could use that would help, used. I thought maybe the cheats were keeping me from moving to ch.3, but that doesn't really make much sense.

I'm sorry that I can't really be of much help here. There used to be alot of "know-it-alls" on this BG1 forum, but it seems that they all disapeered. Well... except for maybe SixOfSpades. But anyways, if I were you I would start looking back through all the past posts and archives for similar threads entitled, "technical problems" and so forth. It's a shame that they no longer have that nifty search option.

I agree with tonius--the cheats shouldn't be affecting your Chapter progression.

Start of Chapter 1--Gorion's death
Chapter 2--Entering Nashkel, Nashkel Fair, or around that latitude
Chapter 3--Opening Mulahey's chest and taking the letter from Tazok found therein
Chapter 4--Opening Tazok's tent and taking the letter from Davaeorn found therein

As long as you've done that, I don't see what the problem would be....your game files might be corrupted or something. I think there's a way to use the CLUA Console to force the game to progress to the next chapter, but I've never used it. It also might be only for BG2, as well.

Maybe you didn't play the quests right!
