First off, HoW is not installed. I'm running v1.3.062915.
After the final boss in IWD goes down, is it *supposed* to dump you back to the main menu? I was expecting some sort of cinematic, or at least a victory sequence. -Lem |
You should have gotten a movie after winning the final battle. There is a known bug that causes some users to miss the movie -- this was addressed in the v1.06 patch.
If you'd like to patch your game you can find links to patch downloads here. I'll bump this information to the top of the board for you. Again, you would want to install the v1.06 patch. |

Which just so happens to be v1.06. Anyway, I think the problem was my missing Override folder. Earlier I had problems after the first fight with "RBP" (game would not return control after the movie). The advice on Interplay's website involved re-naming the override folder, which I assume caused the game to lose track of it. Movie ran once that was restored (after Big Mean and Ugly was killed again, of course). He's not so tough, really. If only locating a copy of HoW at local merchants was so easy... -Lem |
Lemmy, try Interplay directly for HOW.

In my Icewind Dale game, when I defeated the final boss, nothing happened...I couldn't leave the building, or talk to anyone. Well, except for the that one person (I can't remember anyones names right now ) who lets you into the building. He just says that I must defeat the boss quickly!

Hmm I'm also stuck at the end after defeating the boss. I've been wandering around trying to find an exit and the stairs won't take me out.
I downloaded the latest patch before playing but this is irritating. What am I missing? |
It worked for me... Maybe a reinstall would work? Just remember to remove EVERYTHING from the icewind dale folder first, then install again. It might work.
Is there a way to play the cinematic straight from the cd? Sorry I can't be more helpful... Moiraine Sedai |
