I am playing ToTL and I am to the point where the "Talking door" asks me a riddle. I have gone to the dungeon to the right and found the skull and I assume I should do the same on the left. Unfortunately, someone beat me to it as there is no body and thus no skull to be found. Am I missing something?

You've assumed right. There's long passageways leading to cells on both the left and the right side of that room. Both contain bodies, which in turn contain skulls. Make sure you've explored the whole level. Maybe you missed a door?
