Hi All,

I can't enter the cave where chapter six starts! Everytime I enter it, the
screen changes to the load screen, and then the program exits with the error
message:

An Assertion failed in Infinity.cpp at line number 1763
Programmer says: Demand for WED file failed.

Can anyone shed some light on the matter?

This is a common problem that seems to show up often in the UK version of the game.

I tried un-installing the game, defragmenting the hard drive, and then re-install the game - but I got exactly the same error message again.

And then tried a minimum installation, allowing the game to read from the CD (and yes, the CD is clean) - and still got exactly the same error!

I've got the 1.05 patch installed, and I even tried the game before and after the patch.

DONE!!!

I had a careful search through the forum and found a link for a UK patch. After installing the UK patch everything works fine!
