Alright...this is going to be a dumb question..but how do I backstab? I have my hidden thief walk up behind someone...and do 4 points of damage? I've never really had a decent thief, and my paladin ways never really made me want to use the technique...but now I am...so could some one tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

I think the thief has to be in shadows first then attack from behind. But I'm not a hundred percent sure if that's all you do! :D

Actually, you don't have to hide your thief.
Just make sure you stand right behind your enemies. You can backstab them even when you are visible and fighting. Ps: Your thief was using a dagger or a hammer? |
A rogue who is hidden (in shadows or invisible) will generally get the backstab bonus on a successful strike. I believe you need a bladed weapon for this to work. It's important to read the combat messages carefully, as the backstab damage is calculated separately from the first hit. Low-level rogues do low-level damage, but that will increase as the rogue goes up in level.
Rogues can also flank an opponent for a backstab; in this case, you don't have to be hidden.
Nightowl2
|
