Has anyone run across either of the following two items in NORMAL mode?

Black Dragon scale armor
Mithral field plate

Aside from Riki, and the folks back in Kuldahar has anyone run across any other merchants in chapter six? I thought that Orrick woud sell items but I guess I was wrong.

IIRC Mithral field plate can be found somewhere in Lower Dorn's Deep. I've never found Black dragon scale (I think that it is HoF item)

Lower Dorn's Deep is in IWD1 not IWD2, and I know from the cheat code that the Black Dragon scale armor is NOT an exclusive HOF item. Thanks anyway.

I remember finding some kind of mithril armor in the Severed Hand tower, and it was the best heavy armor in the game. Don't recall finding black dragon armor.

I thought that the full plate armor oswind made from boring beetle shell is the best heavy armor in the game? plus it is light, only about 10ib per plate.

The light weight of Oswald's armor IS nice, but in terms of stats, the best non-HOF armors in the game are either the mithral field field plate which is base 10 to armor plus maximum dex bonus of 2 and a weight of 25 pounds, or the Chain of Drakkas with a base 7, NO maximum dex bonus, NO penalty to spell casting or thieving skills.

BTW, I DID find the mithral plate in one of the towers of the severed hand.

The Shadow Dragon Armor (among other things) can be bought from Ribald (from BG2) in Targos or Kuldahar. (it is AC9, max dex +6)

Thanks for the link. [img]smile.gif[/img] THere is still a set of black dragon armor that can be found in the game somehow - just don't know anyone who has found it. :(

Where did you here this? Maybe you need to get scales(if possible) from the Guardian and give them to Oswald Fiddlebender.He makes armor and stuff for you.Maybe he could make some Black Dragon armor.

Haven't found any dragon scales in the game and the Guardian doesn't drop any, but I know the armor IS in the game. It is possible that the item is NOT available except through a VERY specific dialogue path, or that the item is only available via a VERY low probability random drop.
