Monster mages obviously consider themselves superior to mere grunts ;)

I've seen that sort of thing a number of times in the game. For instance, the mage with the goblins who attack Targos often throws a sleep spell across his own troops. This is why the bad guys lose ;)

Countless times have enemy spellcasters cast fireball on my rouge whiped out their own troops, while I have come out unscathed. Orc Shaman healed you, eh? That would be awesome to be a part of...

If you think that's suicidal, wait till you get to people who cast fiends behind themselves. Or, an ice golem being supported by an aurilite's fireball.
The enemies tend to get usefull.

Another orc cast a strength boosting spel on my wizard, who thanked him with a spear in the guts.
Why do they do these things?
