My newest party going through the game is:
- Moon Elf Bard - Human Ranger - Shield Dwarf Paladin - Strongheart Halfling Fighter/Rogue (even) Now they've done the Ice Temple and are most of the way through the Fell Woods, and some things have been easier than others. They're up to 13th level right now. Having a Bard as the primary spellcaster is interesting, and the Paladin and Ranger are better spellcasters than I'd given them credit for. Also, the War-Chant of Sith is amazing... So, what Challenge Parties have other people played, and how did they turn out? -- B |
You have a very nice party, strong fighters with good buff and offence.
My challenge parties were: I Bozos of Bones(drow fighter 4/necromancer x) and Bernard Cypher(aasimar ranger) - this party rocked on so many levels. It came out of a boring five minutes while my friend Bernard was here with me. I said "How'd we look in IWD2?" This turned out. I rained spells and bolts from the Hell Bolter while Bernard sliced and ravaged with the Brilliant Short Sword +5 and a cool longsword who's name I forgot. II Blind Faith (drow paladin 10/monk x)- he rocked. He came up to level 23(+2 levels for the drow is 25!!!) to stand before Isair and Madae. There were others, but these are the ultimate rockers. |
Um....the best party...all dwarves...
Erik- straight up fighter Wolfe- fighter Boddenkowm- cleric of tempus Dextar- Mage (who says dwarves can't be kickass mages?) Korgan- Monk...crazy Ferarr- Fighter/Mage/Cleric ...Not the strongest party, but let me tell you, the best looking group of bearded people in green and yellow cloaks, thats for sure. But now...looking back on their stats, i wonder how i could have made such unbalanced characters...thank god my first run through was on "Very Easy" mode |
Don't know if you can call this a challenge party but this motley crew were almost identical to the party I used to complete IWD...
Jason/male/half elf-Best mage in town Whisper/female/elf-Thief Maximus/male/human-Fighter Tibil/male/dwarf-Fighter Tar-Ferus/male/human-Cleric Fritz/male/human-Big scarey ranger No one mess's with this bunch! |
I dont know if this is a chalenge party but this is my group.
Zellis\Human-Aasimar\Paladin of Mystra level 9 ---- Envoker level 7. If you Select a certain class of paladin you can multi class to a mage and still continue in a paladin class. You can do this with other classes as well Giladon\Half orc\Fighter level 8 ---- Barbarian level 9. Probaly the best fighter I ever had. Mardax\Tiefling\Monk of the dark moon level 9 ---- Sorcerer level 5. This is another one of those special multi classes were you normaly cant but can go back and forth bewtween the two. Razi\Wild elf\Rouge 9----Ranger 6. One of the best assasins\fighters. Give him light leather armor and he get's all the attributes of both classes Arron\Shield Dwarf\Battle Guard of Tempus 8 ---- fighter 3 Gorgan\Deep Gnome\Wizard 11 ---- Barbarian2. If you'r going to multiclass a mage into a fighter. Make it a Barbarian. They get the most hit points per level than any other fighter. |
You seem to like multiclassing. The Paladin that can multi to wizard is Paladin of Mystra. Altho I would make the pally and wiz levels equal, but that's just because I like wizs better. About Gorgan, I never tried to multi a caster to barbarian. Does he keep spellcasting while raging? Welcome BTW.
|
Normaly I dont like muticlassing but in Ice wind dale they had a new system so I tried it.
As for Gorgan no he will not be able to cast spells while he rages but if you get most of the pre battle spells of before hand such as Mirror image and stone skin and globe of invariability he a pretty dang good fighter. Oh I only Zellis swich to a mage for a back up. Whenever Grogan Rages in a tight spot I have Zellis and Mordax (Sorcerer\Monk) Come in with there spells. Alone neither of them are as good as Gorgan at spell but together they can rock a world, not to mention there both great fighters. |
here's mine:
Esta/moon elf/paladin of mystra William/human-aasimar/paladin of helm Harley/human/thief-fighter Natasha/wild elf/druid Daemus/human-tiefling/mage Regan/human/cleric of illmater I usually like to have a dwarf in there but I wanted to try these characters so badly. and yes, I very much enjoy having so many spellcasters and 2 paladins, I find it enormously handy. by the by, if one were to try soloing (which I intend to do after I finish this campaign) what kind of character would be the best? or if you don't think just one would work too well, what is the minimum you would think would be the best? |
I dont think one person could do it. the minumun would probaly be two. A mage fighter and a cleric thief, and you'd have to be at a high level at the beginnig.
|
well, I'd assume you'd go up levels fairly quickly, which is why I wanna try it, see how fast I could max out in levels.
