I have completed the stout mines and i went down and kill raskallion/grundel and got into the kings treasury. I go back to scanthril and he tells me grundel is dead I knew he would fail and I suppose you want your payment but then nothing happens after that...

Help please what am I doing wrong

I don't remember exactly, but try to take all conversation options (again) when talking to Scanthril. One of them should give you the dagger.

Ask him about a "JOB"

when you talk, look on your scroll for the word payment, I think that will work. if not, save the game there, and kill him, maybe you will get it, if not, reload to before you killed him, and try something else.

He gave you the correct line that indicates he will pay out, all you need now is the correct answer. When he says "I suppose you want your payment", all you have to do is say "Payment ???" (ie select the word from your menu). Killing him gives a skull dagger, not an assassins dagger.

Actually I'm having some trouble getting the Giant Mouse to give me the job of killing Raskallion! Could this be because I've already offed the poor little bloke back in the Mines? If so have I got problems?
