I have the gear for all my members but they still take on water. Does anything special have to be done to the helmet and shell before you use them?

When Underwater helms are used with Underwater Breathers, the characters still take on water but at a much slower rate than without one or both items.

Also: If you have the 6th level Vine spell "Breath of Air", now is the time to use it!
