most of my spells do jack and id get the crap kicked out of me if i brawl them

As I rember there are four mantraps which do NOT respawn worth about 2k each for the kill. My advice is to flee past them and go south past the east wall outside of Shur Castle. There is a little clearing there behind some trees. Stay there, then stick your head around (WATCH IT!) and blast the amaz mantraps with Meteor, Magmaa bomb (or higher level spells if you are 11thlvl plus) etc. Helps if you have two mages. Do this here and you are out of their devastating breath weapon. It may need you slowly 'bating' the Traps occasionally to get them moving within spell range.

I also found at the castle that if you went from the clearing diagonally across to a ledge on the castle with just enough distance not to be damaged by the amazons. You can then use distance spells, flamedrop, elemental blast, lightning etc and if you get too close just back up! The one's that gave me a bit more of a problem were those in the boogre caves had to reload several times!

the BEST way to kill them is to use meteorstorm spell.
