Late one night I went up to the hovel, spoke with some trolls outside, went inside and got cursed. I decided I didn't want to deal with that, and went back to a previous saved game the next day, finished up my other quests (dragon spire to get Mavin, converted a rogue to ninja).

Now when I go to the hovel no one is at home. No trolls, no witch. Can someone give me an idea what I have to do in order to enter now?

What exactly happens when you click on the lever on the wall? Does the dungeon load OK but Pris' never appears?

there's no way to avoid the boorge curse.... it will be taken care of when you close to finishing with the boorge cave quest...
