I met the wandering Toad man and he told me to visit the toad village and tell the guard ukabu or whatever and I was told I was eveil and was attacked. I just decided to kill all the toad guards, villagers, and shaman - got a bunch of exp points but obviously didn't get the quest. I have already gone a few in character exp. beyond this point. Will I lose anything necessary for the game or should I be ok ?

Welcome to the board, MitchR!!!

You'll still be okay. You might want to try redoing the toad quest just to do it but it is one of the more frustrating quests since toads often get in your path inside the village and there are few solutions save offing them without the other toads being aware.
