I finished the game for a couple of weeks, but then reading the post about mastus sword, i remembered a scene at the beginning of the game. There a stranger appearerd in the nearby of Valeria and asked where Gareth is.

Does your answer has any influence to the game or what should you do with this guy (kill him?) who is this guy?

That's Grue Morde. He's the assassin that you are later sent to kill before you enter Brimlooch. Your answer has no impact in the game. Garreth will die regardless.

besides, you are not ordered to kill grue morde in every case

thanks for the info. Can´t remember to have been askes to kill this guy. but i killed several mean guys before beeing asked to ;)
think lost some quests so
