OK,
My second problem today. I can,t get very far into the DRAGON SPHIRE.I,ve already spoken with ERZEBETTE all about the DRAGON,HEPHAESTUS,AND THE SPHIRE.ERZEBETTE gave me(as a favor to herself)a letter to HEPHAESTUS.I did deliver the letter, put it in the metal box,and waited for a response. All I got for my troubles was large assorted creatures attacking me! Eventually I got bored and left.I was hoping to meet HEPHAESTUS and strike up a friendship(so that damned DRAGON will stop attacking me everytime I,m in the area!). once again...HELP ME PLEASE! The Doctor. |
You'll need something from King Freyedies in the Stout Mines to withstand the heat from that bronze beast before you can enter the Dragon Spire caves.

You can also use a wonderful trick brought forward by Saz: use the "Vanish" spell... once in a while you get propulsed to the top behind the bronze beast.
I would, however, suggest that you complete the Castle, the Boogre cave and the Stout mine before you enter the Spire. BTW: That darn dragon is near sighted. He can't recongnize you until you are "in" him. He'll keep attacking you in the plains even after you get the sword... (even if you killed him !!!!) |
And actually, I think you can run right past the bronze beastie. Seemed to me in my last game that I was able to get past him before he breathed.
You could also try putting lots of Fire protection on the lead character. That's really what the item from Freyedies does -- 80% fire protection, IIRC. *edited to remove specifics and avoid spoilage... like this doesn't...* [ 01-22-2002: Message edited by: Bungleau ]</p> |
Ryanamur, I never saw the Dragon in the out-of-doors after talking to him in the Spire! You actually saw him after that? And he attacked you still? Amazing. This game and it's quirks never cease to amaze me.
Bungleau, I'll have to try running past him, too... right after I cast the save game spell. ;) And from one Doc to another, you won't meet Hephaestus until later on. Don't fret it though. He hasn't much to offer. +Dr.Pick |
Just for the record, Dr. Pick, I didn't *plan* on running past him. I'm just usually in run mode, and when I got to the switch, I realized he hadn't breathed fire at all. Don't know if I benefitted from flaky timing or what, but made note of it for future use.
BTW, I'll be in Lisle in the end of March... nice place to visit. |
