I've played Baldurs gate 1 & 2 & one of the expansions. Although I enjoyed them very much I didn't find them as addictive as W&W. I think it could be because of the charactor advancement in W&W.
To use graphics go to the "graphics Library" on the top of the page & follow the instructions. If you cant follow the instructions I will try to explain it better.
To get a sig go to the general discussions forum & do a search. There are a couple of members that do them for you, but you must ask nicely, they do it in their own time.
I'm not totally sure but I think that North Americans might consider the words d*** it as swearing. You can edit your post by simply pushing the "edit post" icon on the post. Only you or Wyvern can do it. They are pretty strict on it here because a lot of kids access this site.

Kev's pointed you in the right direction for the most part. Edit your signature in your profile, and check the graphics library for the codes for the smilies and so on.

And yeah, we North Americans do get a little uptight about things occasionally. Whether it's right or wrong, we try to keep the language on the boards to what was acceptible on TV in the 60s -- standard cuss words skipped or asterisked out. As Kev pointed out, we do see a fair number of people on the board of all ages, ranging from as low as 13 or so to well beyond 30 (and I'm not naming any names or numbers, either!)

Given that a fair number of younger people read the boards, and given that (outside of the Aussies, at this point) there is a large number of North American participation on the boards, we try to keep things to a level where people's parents aren't going to turn them off from the boards.

GAH! This sounds a lot like typical American claptrap, but unfortunately, it's true. We are quite advanced in a number of areas, and quite prudish in others. And since they haven't made me supreme dictator yet, I'll have to put up with the prudery and other stuff that go along with it.

Language is not a bannable offense, unless you get extreme or personal. And we tend to forgive people's initial thoughts after meeting the mantraps for the first time (they WILL hunt you down!). We've all said the same things. Just try to keep it cleaner in the boards.

Wyv could probably say it all much more effectively and succinctly. That's why she's the mod, and I'm a lowly Elminster. And BTW, you gain levels in the boards by posting and responding, so keep it up!

While we are talking about these sorts of things how about abbrieviations. Is there somewhere in ironworks where I can find out what BTW or lol or rotfl mean.
I have picked up some of the meanings from context or my kids have told me, but many of them are still a mystery to me.

Kev,

A quick search on Google turned up the following site:

<a href="http://www.pb.org/emoticon.html" target="_blank">http://www.pb.org/emoticon.html </a>

I won't guarantee it's completely accurate, but it's got a good listing to work with.

My pleasure, ma'am. We aim to serve.

I used to have another site bookmarked, but it went black a while ago. That one had several hundred expressions and variations. Ah, well...
