Just a thought, but if you cast toughen and then go into to town, you keep those HP right? So what's to stop you having your wizard/warlock casting blood to gold?

pretty boring and inefficient way to get gold, i know, but i thought it was an interesting theory.

Cheers,

The theory is okay but the corresponding praxis will be super inefficient with respect to the other "possibilities". Let us note that an argument about strict legitimity does not pass here: the theory is based on the "toughen bug", therefore, using the theory is equal to using any other "features" of the game

hmm........but it's kinda true.......
casting toughen will gif u 10 hp raise permanently after entering a town, which enables u to cast blood to gold 10 times (if u ahf enough mp...), and that in turn provides u wif a total of 500 gold! not very effective as radek says but when all else fails, u gotta improvise right? ;)
i would do the "use newly created characters as money-makers and take away their gold" method for easy earnings. (each "pool gold" will gif me at least 1000 gold using this method!)

I believe the toughen cheat only works in the unpatched game as well, so since the inn cheat only works there, it's probably a whole lot less hassle. Especially once you count in the cost of healing the caster back up...

I think Blood to Gold was a good spell idea, but it falls apart in implementation. At the beginning of the game, you don't have the spell; by the middle of the game, what's 50GP? Perhaps if the GP amount were based on some formula of spell school level and sorcery level, there'd be something more for it.

Just a notion... The toughen bug has not been posted on the "best tips" topic, has it? I believe it deserves a place there. I do not who has the credit for discovering the bug... If he or she who deserves the credit for discovering the bug does not take the credit and posts the bug in the "best tips" thread, I think I will in a few days.

I saw a brief mention on page 7 of Best Tips. If you want to explain it in more detail, that probably wouldn't hurt.

but isnt that toughen bug a spoiler? o it's suppose to be...ahem....illegal right?
