Ok folks who here has made the plunge to DX9?
I've got it here on disk, have yet the gusto to install it. It's not like I don't intentionally rebuild my system quarterly, but I do only have a few weeks on my most latest set-up, and do actually have a couple quests I wouldn't mind finishing.

So, Please post your DX9 stuff here. Good, bad, or indifferent. But mainly if you experience any issues, what OS, and which vidcard you use. And don't forget to inform us about W&W issues.

Haven't tried it myself, will probably do so when my Radeon card gets plugged in. However the hubby has used DX9 somewhat and is generally pleased with it. It's a little speadier than DX8 and should offer the same DX7 support, but according to the hubby's personal opinion it doesn't! So install at own risk and only install if your video card supports it. ;) My advice would be to wait until you need it and perhaps not even then... I have installed dx9.0b & it seems to make no difference at all on my other games. I have yet to do the virtual dub thing on my new pc so I will let you know how w&w runs asap.

edited: I have been playing now for about 4 hours & the only problem I have encountered is a flicker of the screen sometimes in the priests guild. I doubt this has anything to do with dx9. It doesn't seem to play any better or worse than dx8.

Yepp I'm up and running Dx9 myself now with my new (old) video card, a Radeon 9700 Pro. And after installing Adobe Photoshop 7.0 (you DO NOT want to know what that program costs :D ) the green taint is somewhat adjustable, besides using the catalyst control panel. The flicker might be your driver that's toying with you. What card are you using? A Geforce? Don't know which Geforce driver that offers the best Dx9 support. Catalyst 3.7 is running great though if you have an ATI.

I allways install new directX when it is published and never had any problems
compared to old DX.
I'm now using 9.0 and my old Geforce don't even support it, but still
working fine

And WillowIX, I know what Photoshop 7 cost!
My father bought PS 6 and now I upgrated it into 7 and copy into my computer too... It's allowed, since I live at home Usually I don't copy games or programs, but sure they don't make it easy for students! The price I mean...

It's very good graphic program, I love it.
If you want to see my new header for my homepage, that I made one day by Photoshop 7, click here...
