Response to the Neverwinter Nights Beta Test announcement brings down the Internet!

Ok, not really, but it may have seemed that way to many eager Beta Test hopefuls, because the Beta Test registration site collected over 37 thousand registrations in 24 hours. This is beyond our wildest expectation.

Members of the BioWare Community have been energetically discussing the imminent Beta Test on the BioWare Community Forums, so much so that the Beta Test discussion has also grown the fastest of any discussion we've had.

To recognize the commitment and dedication members of the fan community have shown over the last few years – supporting the development of Neverwinter Nights – we're making a special effort to include these dedicated fans in the Neverwinter Nights Beta Test. A significant portion of Beta Test positions will be selected from the BioWare Community (Hint: increase your chances of being in the Beta Test by becoming a member at: http://forums.bioware.com ).

With so many people registering, a few questions have popped up. We'll clarify them below:

Why do I have to give you all this registration information?
This information allows us to pick testers based on their gaming experience, hardware specifications, and other factors needed to ensure Neverwinter Nights is the best possible game it can be.

If I register for the Beta Test, when can I expect my discs?
This is a Limited Beta Test. Only applicants who meet our test criteria will be selected. Not everyone who applies will be selected to participate in the Beta Test (We have limited server space)

What components of Neverwinter Nights are being tested?
The Neverwinter Nights player client is the only component in the Beta Test at this time. The Neverwinter Nights server, DM client, and the Toolset are not part of this test. But stay tuned; you never know what else we may test next.

What operating systems will be supported for the Beta Test?
This beta test will run on the following Windows operating systems only:

Windows 98

Windows ME

Windows 2000 (Service Pack 2)

Windows XP

While we are continuing development on Mac and Linux, we will not be supporting them for the Beta Test.

If I'm selected for the Beta Test, what can I say or write about?
Successful Neverwinter Nights Beta Test participants will be under an industry-standard Non Disclosure Agreement.
With out written permission from the publisher:

You can not take or publish screen shots.

You can not write about or be interviewed for broadcast or publication.

You can not review the Beta Test for publication in any media.

You can not discussion the Beta Test in a public forum or message board.
