Which should I pick for a party game (and why)? I am planning on exporting either to SoA/ToB, but soloing those. BGI, I want to play as a party.
The Paladin will become a Cavalier, and the Bard will become a Blade. |
how about bard -> blade because i struggle to justify how a party paladin would ditch his party in SoA (especially Imoen) - just a thought . . .

She is a thief. Paladins and thieves don't mix. Defeating evil is easier when you are at your strongest.

Even though the thief class can pick to be of neutral/chaotic good? Would a paladin join up with a robin hood-like character? I would think it to be probable.

It's still easier to defeat evil when you are at a high level I'll just use everyone as sparring partners :D

Hmmm....
I was under the impression that paladins didn't have kits? |

i struggle to justify how a party paladin would ditch his party in SoA (especially Imoen) - just a thought . . . Consider what happens to you at the beginning of SoA. Pally might conclude it's better for all concerned if he deals with his problem alone, so no friends come to harm, die in battle, get polymorphed into squirrels, etc. Ditching Imoen is even easier to justify because it's a micro-level change. She's annoying, for one. For two, if PC didn't use Imoen in BG1 he might conclude she's not "ready" for adventuring. (Regardless of the level/class game assigns her, where did she get the experience?) Third possibility: You took her along in BG1 and she died (permanently). Protagonist concludes she's a doppleganger in BG2 and sets out on a quest to KILL HER. *maniacal cackle* (This message paid for by the Anti-Imoen Ad Council.) -Lem |
