My sorc is about to hit 9th where I can swap spells. I saw the polymorph self and said, "Gee, it would be neat to morph into an Umberhulk...but would I get it's abilities?"
Thus, I opted for a diff spell.
Do you gain the abilities of the new assumed form? I.e., dragons breath if in Red Dragon form?

i was just playing with shapeshift today, and no you cant use fire breath or anything like that :(

but on the plus side, you get massive hp when you transform! the iron golem wins the award for highest hp with 465, and the balor comes in second with 451. the red dragon has around 350 something...and the fire giant and death slaad are around 300ish if i remember correctly

all you can do in your altered form is attack

So what I am getting from your reply is there is only a hp gain. Are you sure there are no other bonuses/weaknesses? It seems odd to put in 4 choices if all they do is change the hp. Are the forms selectable? I am wondering if there isn't a possible resist component, i.e. +fire if in dragon or +electricity if in golem...
