I forgot to try but is it at all possible?
This is the Fire Lord (impossible challenge rating) in Charwood. I was on level 14 when i met the guy. He appeared and summoned a Succubus (moderate challenge rating).

As far as I remember I killed every damn thing that got in my way in that game.

The answer is yes

"Anything that bleeds can die. Anything not immortal will die. All beings are destined to their individual fate."

You can kill him but it is tough.

Ar-Cunin 09-12-2002 03:14 PM

Belial is a very tough fight for a level 10-12 character. If you come back and replay the chapter at level 15 or 16, you could probably take him out. Alternatively, you could cheat up some nice weapons and armor and give it a try.

I mean can u compare him with someone else?
A balor? A lich? one of the boss fights?

Frankly I just killed him. I had a save game before I engaged him, so first I tried to talk with him and get his testimony. Second time I fought him and then played the judge. And you know what? KILL THE SUCKER. No matter whether you get the testimony out of him or not, it doesn't change the judgement much. You'd think that you could "blame him" for causing it all and then he'd get some punishment and so, but noo..

I tried all combinations and only one gave the MAX XP - find Karlat guilty. Rest were all small XP. So why to let the arrogant shmuck like Belial just "vanish" away? Smack him. So I went to him, did NOT cast protection, and summoned him. He came and said "Haha, foolish mortal, you forgot to cast your ptotection spells!", to what I answered "Haha, foolish demon, I did it on PURPOSE!" He was "purple" to me, but not really that tough, at lvl 15. Frankly I had read about him and was thinking that he's tougher. Also that fighter char of mine I planned a bit, so he's good in melee combat :D

Cant remember what level my Monk was when I got to him, but the fight was easily the hardest in the game. I chugged so many potions beating him that I sloshed when I walked

IIRC you get max xp by finding neither brother guilty, and calling upon Belial to witness - then taking the phyciatri(sp?) for yourself - the villagers are released (extra xp) and you get a useful item (sanctuary x2/day)
