Ok, I was wondering if there was any difference between the two? Damage Criticals, Speed.... Anything?
|
This is STRICTLY from memory, but I beleive that rapiers get the weapon finesse bonus and scimitars do NOT. Aside from that I believe that scimitars do slashing damage and rapiers do piercing damage.
The damage and crit specs should be in the back of the manual which I do NOT have here with me. |
There are some differences. The rapier weighs 3 pounds and is a piercing weapon, the scimitar weighs 4 and is a slashing weapon. Scimitars cost 30 gold, rapiers 40 (standard values). The rapier counts as a small off-hand weapon for medium-sized characters, whereas the scimitar counts as a medium one. And, indeed, the weapon finesse is rapier-only.
|
The game is bugged. a rapier *should* count as a light off-hand weapon for medium sized creatures, but it doesn't.
I haven't checked with 1.28, but i believe this is still broken. |
Hmm, well the rapier counts as a light weapon only for the finesse feat, not for the off hand cpability.
So patch 1.28 has finally removed a bug... |
Ummmmmmmm... I think that scimitars look funkyer... but that's just me and my weird dragon sence of style...

I'm new to NWN, what are Feats and weapon finesse?
Thanks, Decurion |

Decurion |
Decurion, the weapon finesse feat allow your character to use his dexterity bonus TO HIT (not to damage) with his melee weapon.
This feat could be used only with some light weapons : Medium characters : rapier, daggers. Small characters : daggers. |
