I feel stupid posting this, but, how to I access a NPC's inventory (if possible)? It seems different than in BG2.
Also, I am interested in making my own armor, or editing the games original model files (I think the legs are too skinny). What programs are needed for this? I have 3D Studio Max 5.0, if that helps. Any help would be appreciated, thanks! |
Follow this link it will answer the henchmen inventory question.

Hey thanks- one last question,
In the aurora tool set, when I try to look at items like new creatures and new items, they all have a chrome effect and I can't even make out the image- its basically what the game looks like when you have "environment mapping on creatures"- how do I shut this off in the aurora tool set? The mapping does not do that. I've never heard of what you describe..: /

This has to be a video driver or Direct X problem. I would upgrade them both and see if the problem still exist. You should be a direct X version 9.0b.

I have Directx 9.0- I doubt its my system since it was like that in the game- I had to turn off the environment mapping on creatures, so, if at all, it may be my video card- but, I just don't see why- sometimes the creatures look the way I want them to (textured) and all the creatures I want to change (humans) have the goofy chrome lookin' thing... ???

Want video card do you have and what driver version?

Uh, nevermind- I don't feel like getting into this- its just some stupid chrome texture thats probably turned on anyhow (since some stuff loads fine, but all the races that you can actually play as in the game have the chrome effect- so its my my video card/driver/whatever). Anyways, all I want to do is get the binary to ascii converter to that I could finally make my new model...

Yeah FYI I have since came across this. It's cause is running the toolset in 16-bit compatibility mode. You can easily turn it off in the options however, if the option is greyed-out your video card needs upgrading. Running NWN's on a card that is below spec is the absoloute reason.
