Alright, here's the deal: I have Windows XP, Baldur's Gate, and a frickin' huge problem. I wanted to do a full-install of BG, but couldn't find a way to simply upgrade my installation... I tried to unistall the said program, but my computer claimed it could not find the file to uninstall said program. I then I got very... agitated... and more or less, destroyed every file in the BG folder. Sooooo.... any advice? (BTW, simple system restore didn't work!)
Thanks in advance. |
well you should delete the files in the registry probably, but first try this. Open the BG1 CD (not double click, right click then open, and try running the setup. See how that goes
|
Well, after some desperate measures, I was able to return BG1, at least, i think so. It's reinstalling now, full install. I'm now playing the same version as a friend, but drastic times, right? Well, thanks anyways, guys.

(bows head in mock bravado)
It comes in handy when a friend has an external hard drive, doesn't it...Oh, and for anyone who wants their data REAL DEAD, I highly recommend a program called Eraser 53 |
not necesarily an external drive. Two internals will do :D
|
btw, ILANDER, i also lost all save files thanks the wonderful external hard drive! Well, Veric's adventure shall start anew. (grumbles)....
|
But you still have the fuzzy warmness of Baldur's Gate itself!
|
I would say, "I'm going to kill you," but that may be recieved as a threat, and after the last time.... oh well, just suffice to say, "Me not happy." lol
