I'm in Helms Hold for the Chapter 1 finale and have come across a chest that I can't open. It is in the bottom level in one of the cells. I have Tomi with me, who I'm pretty sure is the best henchman for traps and locks, and he can't open it, which has never happened before. Is there a specific key needed to open the chest or do you have to be playing a thief yourself to open it? Thanks.

That one is a pain, i think it is indestructible by magic and melee. The only way is by theif. Tomi or a pixie henchman should do the trick. The only reason I can think of that tomi doesn't work is possibly you do not have enough levels and so he doesn't have enough. Make sure he is leveled up all the way?

Ya, thats the one. I finally got tired of trying and just went on to Chapter 2. I am level 9 and had leveled up Tomi as far as he could go, so I don't know what the problem was. Oh well, too late now. I just hate leaving a chest behind though......

I've had the same problem with that chest, I've never been able to open it.
I hope it's empty! ;)

I checked Gamebanshee, but they didn't say anything specific about a chest unopenable. There's probably some random loot in there, nothing special.

High-level treasure... Try beating the boss, telling him you want to look around, and then trying it again. This is just speculation based on what I've seen in the toolset.

The chest just has random stuff in it. I used magic missiles on it once. Tommy cannot bypass the trap that is on it, its a deadly fire trap... high dc
