I need to increase my Parry skill, and so really want to lay my hands of a pair of (Greater) Gloves of Swordplay. Is there a merchant anywhere in Neverwinter (or anywhere else for that matter) that sells these gloves, or do I simply have to wait until I randomly come across them (therefore having a chance of never owning a pair)?

Where in the game are you?
I don't know with absolute certainty that there are a pair to buy, but it would be strange if there weren't. If you're still in Neverwinter (chapter 1), then you probably have to wait awhile longer before you find any. [ 09-14-2004, 03:00 PM: Message edited by: Stratos ] |
I'm only in chapter 1. Done the peninsula and beggars nest quests so far.
I guess I can wait a while longer. Annoyingly, I've found at least 2 pairs of Animal Handling Gloves so far :( . Cheers. |
It's been a VERY long time since i last played this game, but
SPOILER . . . . . . Aren't there some up for grabs in the docks, that you can purchase for smugglers coins? |

Not to worry, I've arrived at the conclusion that Parrying blows anyway. It used to be better when you're repoiste attacks had a +4 attack and damage bonus, but now improved parry just increases the skill points by 4?! I started out being hopeful about the parry skill, because 7 attacks per round and a high parry skill should in theory grant you excellent protection. In reality, you can potentially block 7 attacks per round but you can only block one at once, meaning that when you're surrounded this skill is basically useless. Even whilst performing a repoiste attack you're vulnerable to an attack from another foe. I would have thought that blocking and attacking could be done independantly with the 2 weapons. Sigh... |
