Does anybody else think it's ironic that a Paladin can only get the Shining Light of Lathander by letting Neeshka rob the warehouse and taking a Chaotic hit? It reminds me of KotOR2 where you could only get the Lightsaber early on Dantooine by lying about the salvager's will and taking a DS point hit. So, I did it, early in the game. Damn Obsidian, I'll bet that they do that on purpose.

You're right...that sounds less than ideal if one wants to play IC. Is this the only IC discrepency in the game so far, or are there more?

There are a number of quests - particularly those associated with Neeshka (i.e. the Collectors) - that give you a chaotic / evil hit just by accepting them, but those are not necessarily discrepancies. You don't HAVE to accept those - but it's tougher to build influence with Neeshka if you don't take them.

Besides there IS an alternate quest path to get a holy sword that doesn't require a Chaotic or Evil path.

Uh, huh, that being the Holy Avenger that we were talking about?

The importance of the Shining Light of Lathander is that you get it really, really early in the game. That and the Bone Phoenix and the Hammer of Frost are the only magic weapons more than +1 in my party. Besides, it is something to get a Weapon Proficiency in.

Yes it would be. I know that the Shining light isn't technically a holy sword but it comes close.

My Paladin of lathander did it and had no problem justifying it roleplaying wise.

We just cleared that warehouse and looted some of the stuff. If Neeshka want to go around for a second look I see no reason to stop her.

Yeah, I didn't either, roleplaying wise. I was like, "Holy crap, we've done it. Go on and have fun, I'll be right here, trying to make Elanee blink." :D

Guys, don't forget to preface the titles with NWN2 if it relates to that game.

Well dear Pally-lover friend , it is a difference of knowing the path and walking the path ;)

Or as someone would say, make your own holy sword! ;)

Besides, how early in the game are we talking? I got bone phoenix and a light hammer of lightning pretty quickly.
