I have installed both Hakpaks and tried connecting to the server, but after going to multiplayer and creating a new username I tried connecting but got a message saying that I could not connect to the master server. Then I was taken to the list of games, which was empty, tried to connect to EfU but got a server was not found. Am I doing something wrong or is there something I have forgotten?

Have you tried a direct connect? Have a look at the Ironworks NWN Server status, copy the IP address and do a direct connect.

Though it also sounds like it could be a problem with GameSpy as well.

Have you got the latest Patch 1.62?

I tried that and that was when it told me server not found. I'll have a look for the patch.

EDIT: checked version number and it is 1.62.

Can you get a screenshot of the error?

I have checked Gamespy and its working for me. Do you have a software firewall or hardware firewall ? If so make sure that they are set to allow gamespy and NWN access to the internet.

Make sure NWMain.exe has access through your firewall and Aphex.exe (apparently this is GameSpys main file)

Try that and let me know

I get this first when trying to connect to the multiplayer game system. It roughly translates to: can't reach the main server, some multiplayer functions may be unavailable.

I also checked firewall settings and they should be OK.

Could be that a link from me to you is down because of the Hurricane. I cannot even GET to some sites around the south. South of us some towns were erased from reality. It may take time.. What is your IP?

I'd try turning the firewall off completely, just to make sure that it's not the culprit.

I turned off my firewall and it still didn't work. I just had the idea that it might be the university's firewall (I am in a university dorm during compulsory summer work) but I have no way of checking that.

I live in Virginia and I have been on and off the server all day long. First it worked for 10 min. then it was off for 40 min, then back on for 35 and then I lost it for 2 hours and now It shows the server up but won't let me log onto it.
So the Hurricane has messed up everything maybe tomarrow it will word correctly again.
