Anyone read this one? I am almost finished with it..
It kinda sucked that they finally GET to the Library in the END of the book, but overall, its okay. (Its no Icewind Dale Trilogy, but hey..) I plan to read some older, nolonger published Forgotten Realms books I found at a Used Comicbook store-GREAT find too, I bought 18 of them! Ziroc |
I am soon going to buy it, I hope to find all the forgotten realms ...even though a lot are out of print.

I'm really looking for books on Netheril, I've just been able to find this trilogy. Just finished Seige of Darkness, that was really good, and am now reading the Simbul's gift.

you MUST tell me about the Simbul's gift !!
I am still reading the sequal to the Avatar trilogy, and it mentions the Simbul a few times, and she seems to be just as strong as Elminster in power, yet she is more chaotic, where he is more controlled, so I guess that is why she is considered lesser than he. I know that she is the Shield against Thay, or something, so that means she is pretty darn good. Yet I know nothing more of her! |
You know about the Seven Sisters right? The Simbul, Storm-Queen of Aglarond, is actually Alassra Shentrantra, sixth of the Seven Chosen Sisters. She's the first with spellcraft and her powers rival Elminster, but of course Elmister's about 200 years older i think. Elminster's also got 255+ psionics which would destroy anyone's mind even before they could do anything. I think she's at least Level 27 or 28 mage plus all the Chosen's abilities eg silver fire etc. Her alignment used to be Chaotic Neutral but I think it's Chaotic Good now. It's quite an interesting book, not a lot has been written about the Storm-Queen.

Thanks for the info...Which books better explain the 7 sisters? I have been getting back into the collection after a 3 year slump. So I have missed too much. And I really appreciate knowing that there are others like you out there that love the Forgotten Realms as much as I.
Do you agree with me that Ed Greenwood is the best at writing comedy into his novels? |
Silverfall: Stories of the Seven Sisters by Ed Greenwood. Thing is, it doesn't tell you much about their history which is what I want to know but it's not bad.
