it would never get made.too many people would whine about the drow being symbolic of racist attitudes(you know black and evil).

I forgot: Starwars Episode 2 Attack of the Clones of course. But I guess that's not what you ment.

Akar said any Salvatore movies this doesn't necessary mean the Underdark or Drow.

There is a "modicum" of hope out there for us R.A. Salvatore fans.

Salvatore IS writing a Star Wars novel (but not Attack of the Clones). In an interview on his website, Salvatore said that he was "very excited and honored" to be asked to work on the Star Wars series.

He also admitted that - deep down - he was hoping that Speilberg and Lucas would be impressed enough with his contribution to take a look at some of his "other works".....like the Icewind Dale trilogy.

BTW - just to do some umitigated chest-thumping - I actually had some personal correspondance with Salvatore waaaay back when the Icewind Dale trilogy came out. We wrote back and forth for about a year and a half. But that was long before he became the mega-success that he is now.

If a movie was ever made hope it would come out great like LotR did.

Considering the rape of Lord of the Rings being made a movie, I shun the thought of doing it to Salvatores books too.

About racism, I don't think that would be a hinder, khazadman. Blaackness is indeed the color of the unknown and the dangerous, and that justifie the drow being of that color.
African people, and their offspring in america, is not realy black, their skinn is just dark brown (not even that dark some times). The drows, on the other hand, is considered to be colored black, REAL black.
