How does a solo game really work [stop laughing]???
I wanted to try a fighter solo or wizard-fighter... I need help!!! |
you start a game as normal
you remove imoen from your party as soon as she's joined you never recruit another NPC you play the game as normal doing all the quests on your own what help do you need? |
Well, starting with a wizard must be quite hard...
|
one of the hardest certainly - there's a current thread on early solo wizard tactics with a few replies
basically it's about knowing the game well enough to be able to go straight to the things that will help you and avoid things that are beyond you there's a couple of early levls worth of free XP in beregost and nashkell alone just by running errands and talking to people for example all you really need at the lower levels is patience and a missile weapon - if you can isolate enemies you can outrun most of them through micro-managing path-finding and eventually you'll whittle them away not that i've actually soloed a wizard myself . . . |
Hmm, does letting people into the party, stealing all of their equipment then booting them still count as soloing?
I've often 'soloed' by doing that, just to get 'bonus' healing potions and junk to sell in the early part of the game |
Depends on your views on soloing. I usually do that myself, since I consider it soloing as long as any other party member is presently in the party when there is an XP gain.

I always have done it with evil NPCs (I always play as good) it can be very useful
