This sequel is not what you think it is.

It's a movie which takes place 2 years after FFVII and will give us insight to the fates of our characters that survived.

As for the sequel to FF7 Squaresoft said that they were making a remake, than they said they were making a sequel, and now they're keeping their mouth closed.
