I'm reading Elfshadow at the moment...

Haven't read too much but it seems pretty good so far. What other books of her's would you recommend?

<font color=skyblue>By Elaine?

ALL OF THEM!!!!!!
She is the mastermind behind all things elven.

To be more specific:

The Swords and Songs quad, originally found in parts of the Harpers Series, but now made into it's own set.

The Starlight and Shadows trilogy, where she shows R.A.S. how to really write about elven culture, even the drow.

The Dream Spheres, where she plays with two of her favorite characters, Danilo Thann and Arilyn Moonblade, set in Waterdeep City.

The Counselors and Kings trilogy, featuring the Magehound.

Elaine's contribution to the FR world is principle.</font>

I've read almost all of her books. The Starlight and Shadows books are good additions/explorations of the drow world, and the Counselors and Kings books are solid as well, especially for the jordani, warriors specially-trained to resist and combat magic.

Thanks. I used to not be able to find any Forgotten Realms books where I live, because none of the bookstores sold any :( but thankfully a new shop has opened that has tons!

I'll pick those books up when I get a chance. If anyone can suggest any other Forgotten Realms books by any author I should buy, please suggest, thanks!

Hm...thanks for those titles. I'll be sure to look out for her too. The most I've read of FR is Salvatore, who isn't bad at all, in my humble opinion. I enjoy his books, so that's all that matters to me. ;) But I'll definitely give Elaine Cunningham a try. I love elves, so she'll be a good choice in that respect.

One question though, do the books have any particular order? Are the titles listed in some sort of order? Thanks!

<font color=skyblue>She follows the FR timeline.

Doing some searches on the website of WotC will direct you toward what should be known and when.
For example, What happened before "Daughter of the Drow"</font>

She'd have to be the best FR author along with Salvatore at the moment.

Jorath Calar 07-25-2004 10:31 AM

Nope, She is the best, along with Paul Kemp, Salvatore is a washed up has-been who should be writing for Pokemon instead.

Poor R.A Salvatore, he really gets some stick on these forums :D

I just finished Elfshadow BTW it was excellent!
