I decided, after three years or so to replay BG1.

I also thought I'd try it differently to the first three/four times, with a slightly different party.

Anyway, I decided to get Minsc & D, but dropped them for Xan (and then picked up Branwen).

I now want to go and find Kivan (swap for Branwen), but now I don't have Minsc I want to get Edwin back.

Is this possible? Bearing in mind I rejected him at first..He must be lurking around somewhere!!!

Thanx,

Lavi

Is he still lurking about in Nashkel?

I may have this wrong, but here goes. If you rejected him AND you went and rescued Dynaheir, I believe he will attack you the next time you see him in Nashkel. If you rejected him and DIDN'T rescue Dynaheir, then I think you can still recruit him.

i believe he will still join your party, although he will still want to kill dynaheir. Which means that it's best if you have him join your party with dynaheir in your group, then have him kill her so that you can get rid of her and fulfil his quest at the same time.

As a loyal member of the 'Edwin Rocks' fanclub, I have no idea why you'd reject him to start off only to then later have a change of heart and expect him to do the same. Most people either loathe him or love him. ;)
But yeah, all I can say is taste the pain for your initial disrespect! :D

You could always go back to a previous save game obviously or just take on Xan or Dynaheir instead. Actually, my first party through Vanilla BG didn't even feature a mage. (Dwarven Fighter PC, Ajantis, Branwen, Khalid, Jaheira and Imoen)

So you have a number of options, which is one of the beautiful things about Baldur's Gate.
I'll be incited to play again one of these days with the most unconventional party I've had so far...so many NPCs to experiment with.

Well, the reason I didn't pick Edwin is I've had him everytime so far...

Trying to be different!!!

Atm, I have :

Me (Paladin)
Kivan
Shar-Teel
Branwen
Imoen
Xan

Don't ask why I have a Paladin and Shar-teel, just never used her before!!!

Well, the dialog is cool I bet.

Kyrvias 06-05-2005 10:16 PM

...yeah. sounds fun...

My favorite crap party is:

Me- Fighter/Cleric/Mage
Tiax
Xzar
Xan
Biff The Understudy
Garrick

Now *that* was interesting...

Azred 06-05-2005 11:16 PM

I generally use Shar-Teel; not only is she a really good fighter but she has interesting dialogue. I must admit, though, that once I recruit her I alter her stats to have a better constitution and a lower wisdom.
