Farley Farts
A reader's description on Amazon: "Farley has been farting. He farts at home, he farts at school, he farts in the pond. "It was like a jacuzzi!" But mother frog is worried and sends him to the doctor. The doctor says, "'It will pass.' Unfortunately, it KEPT passing." As Farley's gas builds, he gets bigger and bigger--too big for his clothes and eventually too big for the door. One day, Farley has stored up so much gas that he floats away into the sky. His father comes up with a solution worthy of Grandpa Joe: "'Fart, Farley, just as loud as you can!' But Farley couldn't hear him. 'What, Dad?' 'PPFFFOOOTTT!' everyone shouted." So Farley farts, drifts back down and celebrates with bean soup...but this time Farley's not the one who farts!" [ 01-08-2005, 04:51 PM: Message edited by: Spelca ] |

A word of warning Sir Degrader, when you are old and feeble those very same children will determine where you'll be living with visions of 4 AM 5 mile marches dancing in their heads! :D

Another one I read at zellars is "The story of Farts", a children's book that discusses the science of farts at a very simplistic level. Takes about a minute or two to read.

On the topic of odd kids' books...
I used to work in a bookstore and came across one that was just so wrong... It was a story about some squirrel, who at one point is being chased by a bear. The bear trips, rolls down a steep hill and hits a rock, coming to a stop "with a sick, wet thud". I was stunned. I just remember that line: "a sick, wet thud". Crazy |
