-   -   Problem with this adding a new WALL!! (http://www.ironworksforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41982)

foody 09-02-2001 10:13 AM

I am truely frustrated because no matter what I do to adding a new all I always end up in a screwed up result. I have this default wall right? Will like I wanted to add a new wall set and then I go this awesome webpage which has all sorts of graphics that I can download but the problem with their wall set is that they are different in size location then the default setting. So I end up using two programs one is Adob PhotoShop 5.0 and the other is the paint program, so I go ahead and copy the wall and maximize the size according to how it suppose to be using the default walls you give me as a skeleton. I do that and things go fine when I place the new wall set infront it looks awesome. But when I look at the left or right direction for some reason there is that green color appearing on the upper and bottom side of the left or right side of the wall because the transparency that suppose to make the green color disappear doesn't disappear. I tried all sorts of combinations to make the stupid green color disappear but it would refuse. Am I force it to stick with the same wall setting (the default setting) for the rest of my life? Can I actually add a new wall set? Is it allowed? http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/noncgi/smiles/mad.gif.

One other thing for the default background music, I selected a new level set and I want to put a different background music but it gives me the previous backgroud music of the previous level set. If I delete the music from the new level set does it effect the old level set? If it does, can you make it such as each level has their OWN separate music (I don't want to end up sharing musics from different level nor do I want to end up playing an entire 50 different musics just to reach to the music that I want to be played for that level)?

Also are you planning to fix the NPC remove method? http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/crap.gif

the pictures transparency is determined by the pixel at 0,0. open up your wall file and make sure to copy the green color into pixel 0,0. this should do the trick. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Hi foody!

I found that the green colouring was appearing when I copy & pasted walls ... this was due to the anti-aliasing feature being on, causing some of the transparant colouring to shift in colour slightly & therefore become visible. Perhaps this is your problem?

Hope this helps

It told me the reason but it didn't help cause you didn't tell me how to solve it. Exactly how am I suppose to put it in (0,0) can you please give me exactly what's to be done?

the best i can do is tell you how to do it with paint shop pro, the program that i use.

you use the dropper tool, which allows you to grab any color from the current picture. (just about every art program has a similar feature...) grab the green! switch back to draw mode and add a single pixel at 0,0.

if you're using a different program try reading through the documentation if the above doesn't work.

hope this helps. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

off the bat, two things: first, look in the default art directory for dungeon craft- this will give you some sample walls that you can use as a template. second, download easytex (look for it at the dungeon craft site), this tool makes it much easier to create walls.

the wall that you sent me is in the format for forgotten realms unlimited adventures, which is why it didn't work. (i assume you already know this.) basically, you double the size of the wall and put it into one of the default walls. i'll email you what i did with it however, which was to resize the main wall and run it through easytex.

That's what I was been doing all the long and still it doesn't work, I used the software and still it doesn't work I used the dobbler tool or whatevre and made a filling around the wall and still it doesn't work. I used two different softwares and still it doesn't work, I made size changes and still it doesn't work I used the skeleton wall and still it doesn't work...and so on and so on and still it doesn't work....what is going wrong??? http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...les/crying.gif

Foody, send me the wall file and I will try to determine why it doesn't work. Same email address as for the arrow animation file.

The background music has problems after a level change and after combat which I will attempt to fix for the next release. Same thing for the NPC remove event. I took a few days away from DC during the holiday weekend here and missed my usual weekend release. Both of those problems will hopefully get fixed soon.
