My first observation is that this is great!!! I love it. It has been soooo long and it hasn't dissapointed me. Having said that, here are some observations about the demo and guesses about the game.
1. Time may be important in the game. The save games list the days since you landed and the time in 24 hour format. But I do not know how important it will be. The fact that the time is there suggests that it may be important, but I have been unable to find away in the game to check the time. The only day/time indicator is on the load/save game screen. 2. Base rolls will matter. In Wiz 7/Gold, base rolls were pretty much negated if you changed classes. Since your new stats were always the same as the base stats for the new class, it didn't matter if you had very high rolls, the stats went down to a base level as soon as you changed classes. In Wiz 8, stats never change when you change classes. Beginning rolls and Ankhs (assuming there will be ankhs) will play a big roll in determining how good your character can be. 3. I like the new "premium" skills method. When a stat reached 100, you have immediate access to a premium skill. (When you reach 100 vitality you can learn the Stone Skin Skill. I haven't yet figured out what the skill is for the other stats, but I will soon.) I do not know if there is a way to go above 100 in stats, but there probably is.
