All Hail!
Did anyone of you fellows ever tried to install Wizardry7 under Windows 98/Me. I found it on an old CD of a games magazine. But i always get a strange error message if i try to start: "Division error, If this error occurs often, ask your distributor" (ok, original message is in german, i tried to translate it into english) any ideas, how i can get it to run? |
Dear Marcos the Black,
You need a little program called "Mo'Slo" that slows down your CPU. The Divide Overflow error is caused by the fact that Wizardry 7 was written to be run on 80286's and their ilk, and we now have Pentium 4 computers that go so fast the program's code can't interpret the speed. So you have to slow down the system CPU so the game can run. If you don't have Mo'Slo, I have a copy I can zip and e-mail to you. Let me know. I'll also create a batch file you can use to run it on. Also let me know your system specs (CPU speed, mainly) so I know what to set it to initially. Cheers, |
if you just want to check out the proggie (i got it recently for my old copy of "daggerfall"), you can read about it and download it.
it really is essential for a lot of the older games! V***V |
Thankīs!
Have a AMD Thunderbird 800 with 256MB Ram. If itīs not too large I would be glad to receive it as email. Thatīs very kind of you!! |
Marcos: check your e-mail. I just sent it and some other supporting items to you.
Cheers, -Sazerac |
I've had the same problem but gave up on it. If you could e-mail me the program I'd be forever in your debt. AMD 1.4, 256MB ram.
