Hi there,

I've got an all female party and the gate to Al-Sedexus' altar won't open... any hints?

Thanks a bunch,
Sinnie

Not sure about this, but you may be at that place where you need to put the initiate's badge in a slot to the right of the gate.

I think you get the key or (badge) to the door from an pedestal inside the door where Al-Syind or what his name are, only go down the coridor and the pedestal is right in front of you! Hope this help!:)

And welcome to the IronWorks board Sinnie! :D

Think I read somewhere (might even have been from STC themselves), if you have an all-female party, you should recuit a male RPC into the party (at least to complete this quest).

Ummm, no, it's the other way around. If you have an all-female party, you have to drop any male NPC's in the group. Otherwise, you can't do the ritual. However, this may have been fixed in the latest patch.

That doesn't have anything to do with the gate, though. For that, you need the initiate's badge, which you pick up on the way to the canezou tests.

~~nightowl2~~

that's exactly right. drop any and all male rpc's and just go thru it with your all girl group. you also need to complete a quest to make an item, that makes it more *ahem* meaningful for the Grand Dame.

and as far as the patch goes. well, before it came out, this quest couldn't be done with an all girl group. the 12_24 patch corrected that by allowing you to do the deed if you follow all the above tips.

So, vesselle - what is it that female groups have to do to placate Al-Sed enough to accept one of them instead of the male she wants?

If there -is- actually a difference in how she deals with fems, it sounds like it might be worth it to create an all-female group just to go through this bit.
