I haven't bought the game yet (hopefully Best Buy will receive their shipment today), so I'm playing around with party ideas. I want to create a Draconan Ranger (RP purposes from back in the day of Warhammer games) and I see they don't get enough attribute points to start off as a Ranger. However, they do get enough points starting as a Fighter to change to a Ranger after Level 1.

My question, is there a drawback to this other than the fact that I wasted one level to wait for the Draconan to change to a Ranger? I know he can no longer use the special skills from a Fighter, but he still retains the regular skills.

Looking forward to the game. Thanks.

Hi Annheiser !

I don' t know why you think, that you can not start with a Draconan Ranger..... I did !!! And he is absolut great !
I love his "instant kill" ;)

So: when you start the game you get "free Skillpoints" and when you chose a Draconan for a Ranger the only thing is, that you have less free Points to divide !

Short answer:
Start off as a Ranger directly.

Looong answer:
I understand your confusion, the table can be misleading: if you start with a Drac Fighter you get 60 points if you start with a Drac Ranger you start with 15 points.

The fact is that those points are not "extra bonus" points but points you can spend freely after the minimum requirements for the chosen class are met.

So if you start with a Fighter you will have to spend the free points in DEX and SEN anyway to be allowed to class change to Ranger at level 2. So you really gain nothing by going Fighter for one level, certainly not 45 (60-15) attribute points.
