My party has never much relied on RPCs throughout my game, but when I picked up Madras I realized how much I'd like to keep him through the game, after I saw how awesome gadgeteers are. Only problem is that Madras refuses to goto Ascension Peak or the Rapax Rift, areas I'm starting to need to visit. So I tried an idea of making him unconscious by running, and then entering the area. It works great, except that after he wakes up in the new area he takes massive ability loss..

I can live with that though, if there is no permenant loss.. (it seemed to correct itself after I left the said areas)

what I'm asking really is that can I take Madras through the Rapax Rift and Ascension Peak, tolerating his massive ability loss, and then when I leave these areas not suffer any permenant ill effects? I don't want him to fall behind in experience and levels because I have to drop him. Furthermore, when I do drop him he goes ALL the way back to Trynton, and becomes very hard to rehire.

The game isn't very clear on whats permenant and whats not, and how some conditions which seem temporary can become worse. Like draining or disease..

Any time you have an NPC in an area he/she hates, they become hexed. However, this will clear up as soon as you leave that place, and they will be back to normal. So it's temporary.

Unfortunately, Ascension Peak is the end game, so Madras may not be of much use to you there.
