I have had this game since it came out, those many decades ago...and I still have not finished it(chronic restarter) I want to play a party of twenty so I can try them all out...ha ha ha..not really.
So I have finally decided(I've heard that one before)on a Kensai dualed to mage...but with staff skills and not swords...5 stars in staff and 2 in two handed style sounds pretty cool..Last time I did a K/M I was fighting so much I didn't cast spells. Nor did I need to to I was a evil kicking machine.
So I also have a question...it says on some potions that the duration is 12 hours but it wears off too fast,, I mean you cast armor and that lasts forever...you can even rest and it is still there, and the duration time is also twelve hours, but I got these potions ( I think it was potion of agility or ? it raises dex by 3 for twelve hours or so it says) for Keldorn to raise his dex until I got those gauntlets, but it seems to wear off too fast...I mean with in minutes....so what gives?
So I am off to start over for the trillionth time..I'm going to finish this game even if it kills me.

Lol, Ive started about 40 games and only finished one of them. Human Barbarian, but I didnt beat TOB yet. Thats my next goal. Then on to the other countless games I have purchased.

HeHe.You sound like me. Ive played this game for 2-3 months and I did beat it, oh yes, but now im trying to beat it in MP wit the party of my own. At the moment(yes I will suerly make a new party soon) this is my party:
Thaerek: Human Fighter
Fliir: Elven Thief
Daelgar: Human Cleric of Lathander
Dazgearl: Human Paladin
Tlirra: Elven Archer
Thalrion: Human Conjurer.
Now this is the 10345THOUSAND time ive restarted. Ive played loner, full party, I beat it in single, and yet I ALWAYS restart! HeHe. And each time I restart I get my chars Hold and restart again! HeHe. Oh well, this time I WILL beat it in MP. Good luck dude and keep posting! ;)

I only finished BGI just now and I've had taht since it came out in 1998 (or was it 1999?)

well just meaning two months ago , I'm concurently taking my Paladin from the first one to through SoA and I will take him through ToB once I get it too work :D

Don't dispair there's hope.

I can not BELIEVE you people. Every game I start I finish. If I don't like something about my character I restart at the very begining. For me its not so much trying out new kits. It is about the engrossing storyline and finding out whats going to happen next. If I restarted a hundred times without knowing how it all ended I would die.

You know what they say...one man's wine is another man's poison. ;)

so BGII is "the worst game ever" because you are irresistably drawn to its awesome gameplay and storyline, and addicted to just how fun and awesome of a game it is???
