well i bought wizardry 8 about a year ago. i found it on amizon.com for $30 but i also had to pay $5 shipping and handling. a few weeks after that i saw a copy of it in an electronics botique for $30 as well. It was the last copy however. so unless you wanna pay the extra $5 for no searching, you can look for a copy in your nearest electronics store. ask the clerk about the game. i however, highly doubt you will find in stores. i was searching a LONG time before i found it online. but the is definatly worth getting.

i hope this helps you

You should be able to find it at many retailers now. It was reissued at a retail price of $19.99 a few months back. I just checked Best Buy, Game Stop, and EB Games online and they all have it.

I see you live in Sweden, which could make obtaining the game a bit more difficult. First, ask in any local stores if they have it or could get it in for you. That is likely the cheapest solution. Should that not be possible, check any game mags you have for mail order places in Sweden; one of them should have the game in stock. Failing that, you may have to order from outside the country, which could be expensive.

Cristian, I hope you find it! It's a lot of fun to play and even replay. Unlike many of the new games coming out today, Wizardry 8 (usually - not the same everywhere) comes with an excellent manual, that will explain how things work. The Strategy Guide, if you can find it, is worthless, IMO.

There are some good tips always available on the boards, especially if you get stuck, but sometimes spoilers are mixed in. It might be most fun to play the game on your own at first, but just recognize it is not necessarily easy and don't be afraid to start two or three parties before you find your... legs.

The sticky tips on the non-spoiler vn board give minimal, non-spoiling information about the game. Just beware of a couple non-sequitor posts by over-enthusiastic newcomers. There's a nice tips thread on this board, too, but it contains some spoiler information and some controversial (not agreed by all, or almost all, players) material.

You can ask here also for advice you need, and ask for it to be of a general, non-spoiling nature. Usually players will honor that, and be happy to help you get started in any case.

For some reason - perhaps to cut costs - the manual in the Euro versions of Wiz 8 is on one of the CD's. You have to look around on the discs to find it, and I think it's in PDF form. They didn't make that clear and a lot of Euro players were upset to think they weren't getting a manual.
