There are four patches 001, 001b, 12_12 and 12_23.

It was my understanding that 12_23 nerfs Pickpocket.

I would like to play a game where I can pickpocket all the NPC's of thier gear, The readme for 12_23 does not specifically state that Pickpocket was changed.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

I would like to use the second last patch 12_12 which is I am hoping the last patch before pickpocket was nerfed.

Lastly my version is currently patched to 12_23, is it possible to retroactively patch down to 12_12, or do i have to reinstall from scratch?

Thanks in advance.

It is my understanding that if you want to pickpocket you don't want any patch newer than 001b.

As far as retrograding the patch? That's taking a chance. Since the wizardry patch does not do anything to the .exe file, i'd say it should be possible providing you transfer every file from the newer patch into a new folder.

It is risky though. Every other game i've ever played were very sensitive about patches. Everytime i tried something like this on other games it always ended in disaster. Worst case is you'll have to reinstall the game.

The patch I used was 001. This was the first release, and only fixed the problem with the Ascension Peak crash. My characters were able to pickpocket quite nicely, once they were experienced (it is well to save before all attempts, however good you may be, just in case!).

I had no problems with the game using just this original patch.
