I just ran into this truly amazing dragon, i tryed to beat it but i could not manage to do that. Is it possible to kill this dragon when your just at a low level? If i return later, will the dragon still be there? Any tips on how i (an elven archer natural-enemy-dragon) can defeat this dude? witch arrows affect him? .. do i need to dispell his protections?

Greetings fellow archer! well you should buy some +2 arrows from the waukens promenade. put all your fighters in front and shoot him from a distance untill they are blown away. Also try casting enchanted waepon so you can get you fighters to hit. When they do get blown away by the fire breath move back towards the wall where he cant hit you and shoot it from a distance. Let me now if it works.

I've got the 2+ arrows... but he just keep telling me that it is ineffective...
btw.. i love the screens you can get from this confrontation.. a single archer faces the big bad ass dragon ..

I think i know whats wrong. did the dragon cast immunity on itself? the spell that causes no weapons to damage it? i think you just have to wait for the spell tou run out, or cast the breach. You could just get one of your characteres to disintigrate it, but it has nice scales on it which you can make into leather armour +5 which will be good for your archer. can you cast hold moster or have a scrool? if nothing works i would recommend waiting as it doesent disapear ever i dont think.

Is it worth buying those dispell-arrows? can the help?.. yeah.. and if I leave, can i go back later and fight him?

yeah just come back to the temple when you are ready to fight. Also ask for advice on the ranger - protector quests you get from the mayor later on because ive nailled them all if you need it.

its been a while since i defeated the shadow dragon but just about any team can defeat dragons i managed to defeat fircraag level 9 (this is how to defeat them without cheating or cheese) first off use the wardstone to position your party around the dragon ( it would help if i knew some more information about your party) cast as many group effect spells on yourselves as you can( haste, strength of one etc) then summon as many monsters as you can i think 5s the limit so make them hard like aerial servant and elementals, next move your nonfighters back and space them out cast negative plane protection on as many people as you can,then have your tanks drink potions of strength or speed and other useful ones then all in one gohave all your fighters and mosters attack your archers shoot your spellcaster dooffensive spells like lightning bolt (dragons have very little resistance against electricity ) get your clerics to heal the wounded and show that big lizard whos the most evolved predator in the whole of faerun- have fun.

how many dragons are there in the game? i only ran into three, the shadow dragon,frikraag and the one in the elven city place. im playing as a calavier next time and i want to fight lots of dragons.
