Well, for the first time playing I stuck with a two handed, l8er on I decided to give warhammers a try ... but what do you think, is the best weapon ? I mean, with fighter class, full specialization, and knowledge of all weapons in the game, what do you think is the most ... brutal *g* choice ?

Regards,

the best weapon could be the silver sword beacuse of the 25% chance of save vs. death or die.But you will not get it until near the end of the game. So the best weapon you can get earliest is the celestial fury but there are no other good katanas so its not really worth specialising in them. The only solution to this problem is to be a wizard with a staff of the magi and then cast tensers transformation

If you are a fighter I can advise you to master only ONE weapon...
My own fighter used long swords all the time, just because they are always common (magical ones) and just look good. But you could also do well with war hammers/axes or double handed swords, maybe also other weapons.
The katana is the worst choice i fear, and the ninja-to...since they are very uncommon.
ps, if you have nobody in your party who you want to have walk around with a double handed sword (I had Minsc using them) then you'll miss a few great weapons in the begin (like a +3 TALKING double handed weapon which you'll get very fast in the game, and a +2 sword which drains HP from victim to you).
If you dual wield like I did, the best choice is I think to master long swords or hammers (there are not that many great hammers...but a great hammer you can get later on...plus that some monsters are immune to slashing damage, while crushing works way more effective).

I specialise in two-handeds. Lilarcor will serve you well far into the game, and you can sheathe it if you don't want to hear its incessant babbling all the time. There are a few little known two handed swords I found to be nice; the Soul Reaver +4, the Warblade +4 and the Harbringer +3 to name a few. Although, you could just spend your points on katanas, get the Celestial Fury as soon as you've spoken to Gaelan, and you're set for the whole game.

I actually had a fighter specialize in scimitars, and dual weapon wielding, not too long into the game he had a +2 weapon in each hand.

Finally try to steal Drizzt's scimitars from him when you meet up, not forgetting to save just before, an angry Drizzt is not good to have as an enemy.

He has a +5 Defender (-2 to AC)and +3 Frostband, a devilish combo when wielded together. Don't forget weapon speeds of scimitars are pretty damn good, especially at getting the initiative.

Cheers....Mine's a Beer

I have one thing to say on that: GOOD LUCK!!!!!!! It's not Drizzt you need to worry about...

Drizzt's scimitars aren't really a choice of weapon. First you have Drizzt and his friends to contend with; secondly, you're going to be followed for the rest of the game by a mage who may or may not imprison your entire party, but will definitely get on your nerves (you won't be able to save the game or talk to anyone, period).

I got Minsc the undead slaying mace +2 (i think)or smthing and Namarra +2

works well enough for me, but then again, I'm only at chapter 3!
