General Kale, half-orc berzerker, is looking for a little "something something", but none of the NPC's seem interested? He's buff and has an 18 charisma. Why won't the lady-folk of the group bite? I know its limited in who will start a romance, but I had Aerie through the whole game, and she never asked for any

i think you can only romance characteres if you ar human i think. Do you really think aerie would ever consider seeing your bare greenish flesh? How come you have 18 charisma if you are half-orc?

Any time she talks to you, she is trying to start the romance. If you give her rude answers, it stops.

Or you could just edit the game settings

To answer your question about why give a half-orc an 18 cha: Charisma is not only physical appearance. Rather it is the total of factors that give people the propensity to follow a given person. His charisma doesn't come from his looks, but rather from the fact that he is fearless, decisive, and a peerless warrior. In general, people will follow whoever is willing to lead, and since he follows nobody, others are attracted to this.

Secondly, merely because there is orc in somebody doesn't necessarily mean that the orc part manifests itself negatively. The human half or 3/4 could be the outward appearance, and the orc 1/2 or 1/4 could be the muscle structure, agility, or intelligence, or all the other features that are not related to appearance. Perhaps he actually has little orc in him (1/8 or 1/16), and is only referred to as a "half-orc" for categorization purposes.

That is my thesis on how a "half-orc" can have an 18 charisma.

The answer is pretty simple,
Half-orcs dont get romances in BG.
Half-orcs have an orcish appearance ... allways .. green stuff and such, apparently none of the ladies you will encounter anywhere like you for that. On top of that orcs are not that bright either.
Anywayz, the designers did not program any half-orc romances as far as my knowledge goes.
You could try to use shadowkeeper in order to change this, using your view of your half-orc and your thoughts on him. (that he might have human skin and orc bone structure)

Classes and races does not matter in romances, just the gender counts. And the orcs appearance doesnt matter either, the game isnt so good that it starts and stops romances because of your appearance.
Now Xoon, maybe you have answered the romance-npc's wrong. I have screwed over many times, so I know that what you answer them and how you act against them counts.
So just always be nice against them.
And remember that only four npc's can have romances, so dont expect anyone except Jaheira, Aerie, Viconia and Anomen to go for it.
If nothing still doesnt work, there are a little bug visiting your game.

But i thought i read somewhere that half-orcs cant have romances ....
Pretty sure, but i cant remember whre i read it.
So ..Xoon, are aerie, jaheira etc. attempting to start a romance-dialogue or are they just quiet ??

Half-orcs cannot romance anyone, !!except!! Viconia.
But if the romance doesnt kick in ... its a known bug,
just check baldurdash for it :)
